Room was very spacious & new with great ocean scenery, and all staffs were very kind with high quality service. I recommend you to stay here for real rest in isolated luxury environment. Because it's brand new there are some points to improve such as limited TV channel option from the room & difficult access to the west beach downtown in Koh Chang.

When I first got to the resort. I was impressed with how nicely the grounds were kept. The welcome was great, we had a drink while we were checking in. The room was in very good condition. The hotel location is far out of town on Koh Chang, which was nice. They even had boats for us to take out on the bay.

If you are going to the Aiyapura for a beach vacation think again. The Aiyapura is located on a bay, there is no beach area save for a few strips of sand about 20 yards across which look out onto a bay, not the open ocean.

My wife and I live in Thailand and have been to numerous resorts; we thought we would check out Koh Chang and had heard good things about the Aiyapura. Boy were we disappointed. Upon arrival the view from the reception area is pretty nice, but you quickly realize you are not on the ocean, but on a bay. Add to that no beach and things start looking not so good.

Further, the Aiyapura is very isolated; you are basically stuck there. There are two mediocre restaurants on site, but if you want to go somewhere else there is nothing within walking distance. If you actually were planning to go to the beach, there is a shuttle bus to "White Sand beach" which conveniently leaves every three hours. So if you miss the 11:00am you have to wait until 14:00. The rooms were o.k. but not great.

We fled after one night and went to the Amari which was a much, much, better hotel. On a side note, having been to most of the beaches resorts in Thailand (Phuket, Krabi, Samui, Hua Hin), I have to say Koh Chang was our least favorite. None of the beaches wer particularly nice, nothing on par with Phuket, and the food was just average. If you are dead set on going to Koh Chang, however, I would avoid the Aiyapura, the Amari and Dewa (located right next to each other) are much better bets.

This is a fantastic resort, and most definately 5 star. I had a fantastic room with a private pool. The facilities are great, lovely pool, spa with beautiful garden and outside salas, choice of two restaurants and a friendly bar. The beach has recently bee landscaped, and the water was very clear and clean. It is the 'greenest' resort I have ever stayed in, with organic gardens, orchid garden, waste food to fertilizer - so many environmental ideas others could learn from.

I think Aiyapura is now the one to beat on Koh Chang, and I definately recommend it, and you can feel you are helping the planet as well. I hope people will feel confident in Thailand again - I love it so much.

Have just returned from twelve days at The Aiyapura Hotel & Spa. The hotel is set in beautiful landscaped grounds with an emphasis on being Eco -friendly.

The moment you arrive you feel looked after and valued. The staff are always on hand t help and the Spa is absolutely first class with the most incredible ambiance and facilities. The pool overlooks the ocean and whilst it is true that the beach does not rival that of White Sands it never the less provides a peaceful haven for sitting out and getting a tan. You can always take the free shuttle bus into town if you want more hustle and bustle.

The food provided is of excellent quality, Huge Thai and western breakfast available as well as reasonably priced bar snacks. Possible to have a meal for under a fiver .

Standard rooms are not luxurious but very roomy, have a large walk in shower, dvd player, tv which shows films without having to pay a premium. Beds are extremely comfortable and the mini bar is not prohibitively expensive. Mind you I tended to stock up on drinks from the 7/11 in the village.

Special recommendation to visit the nearby fishing village for the most delicious crab curry.
