| We feel compelled to write this review to correct the overwhelming balance of bad reviews that Lanta Long Beach Resort has received on your website recently. My wife and I plus our 28 yr old daughter and a girlfriend stayed at Lanta Long Beach for 4 nights 27-31 Dec 07. On arrival we were treated with reasonable friendliness and efficiency. Although there was a muddle with the booking, this was quickly and politely resolved - their website information is incorrect as it states that all rooms have two beds (a double and a single), which is not the case, but we were immediately "upgraded" to rooms with two beds. We found the rooms to be very clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was very good and the restaurant was very clean (we did not have dinner but the restaurant was always full in the evenings). Both the swimming pools were very clean and uncrowded. We would recommend this resort as a good middle range place with a good beachside location close to many bars & restaurants and a good dive centre. |

we stayed at the Nakara resort for 3 nights - it was the most expensive accomodation that we stayed in during our 3 weeks in Thailand (3600 bhat per night) and was without a doubt the most disappointing. The room was large and clean, although the bathroom was grubby - but we had to ask for toilet paper, clothes hangers and pool towels, we had expected more given the price.
the staff were not rude, but they were unhelpful and you were made to feel like a bit of an inconvenience.
In fact the whole resort was a bit grubby, rubbish lying around, dirty dishes and glasses lying around the pool, broken chairs and parasols on the beach area - it is such a shame as the resort is right on a fantastic beach with beautiful sunsets
We didn't eat dinner at the hotel but if breakfast was anything to go by we didn't miss much
I'm sure there are many lovely places to stay on Lanta - don't waste your money at this resort.
Terrible Service! Their website reservation system clearly doesnt work and our rooms were over booked. Despite that the staff and manager were rude and abusive even though they messed up our reservations due to their gross inefficiency. Narima is also managed by the same management. Beware. |

We stayed at the Lanta Palm Beach Resort for 2 weeks in Jan 08, and thought it was a great place to stay! The resort is just back from the beach with a grassy area between it. We stayed in a family room/bungalow which consisted of 2 double beds, bathroom, air con, fridge and television. The room was spacious, clean and the beds and quilts were the comfiest i have ever slpet in ....like being on a cloud!!!
This resort does have different price accomodation ..ranging from a cheap wooden hut to the luxury family room we stayed in!!
It wasnt five star luxury but for the price 2000BHT per night it was excellent !!
There was a hut in the front which contained reception and internet access, you could book all trips,motorbikes etc from here and they were very helpful!!
The area around the resort is quiet - but the beach bars next to the resort are great for watching the sunset!!
I would recommend Jungle Pizza for a snack ( or takeaway ), The Tavern is excellent food in a good atmosphere, The Brit Cafe is great if you have been travelling a while and need your vinegar, heinz beins, hp sauce and great chips!!
The Scandanavian restaurants( which are abundant ) are lovely especially PAPAS by the pier in Saladan!! |

| This place is very disappointing. We have just stayed 4 nights and regret having booked and paid in advance - otherwise we would have moved out. The location is fantastic and the swimmimg pools are great. But some of the staff, particularly the restaurant manager, are very rude and the place is generally poorly maintained. Specifically, there are several stray/wild dogs roaming the site, rats are abundant, and there is a strong smell of sewage. Perhaps worst of all, the uninspiring breakfast is laid out for ages in advance without any cover from the flies. There are numerous other accommodation options on Long Beach offering much better deals and quality |
