wE were on a tour and asked the operastor to recommend a place for the last 4 days of our stay - this was it.
It was Paradise-worth payingg extra for the UNSPOILT VIEW FROM A BEACHFRONT BUNGALOW.
THE RESTAURANT had a reasonable choice of menu especially as there were relatively few guests at this stage of teh season
THE NEW SPA HAD NOT BEEN FINSIHED(YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK IT IS BEFORE YOU GO) but they werr able to offer a suitable room for beauty treatments which were expertly given.
LOCATION - IT IS A VERY LONG WAY FROM ANY SHOPS, NIGHT LIFE ETC SO ONLY GO IF YOU LIKE ISOLATION.
We loved it and would hope to return sometime.

Located about 30-40 mins from Krabi town on a long stretch of beach. At some point (before the other resorts where built) this would of been a great relaxing place. They have beach front bungalows and garden bungalows. The rooms all have a balcony and nice small bathrooms and clean. The hotel I think is the oldest of the properties. I chose NOT to stay here, but that was because the other newer properties offered a better rate. They offered a discount if you stayed more then 2 nights, but it sill worked out better to stay at a newer, much nicer resort along the beach. We did eat at the restaurant twice, and although the staff are freindly and tried their best, it was not our favourite place. Some meals came out a good 20 mins after everyone else had finished.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed Tup Kaek. We were able to relax completely and get away from the hustle and bustle. The location on Sunset Beach is absolutely gorgeous. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Every staff member went out of his/her way to make us feel welcome-we felt thoroughly spoiled by all the attention we got. We were delighted that there was so much greenery on the property-looking at the resort from the water, you would not know there was a resort in behind all the vegetation. Though the bungalows are small, we did not feel at all cramped and we had everything we needed. The porch was great for taking in the beautiful sunsets. We were so sad to go and hope to return to Tup Kaek next year during our vacation.

Overall, I was quite disappointed in our stay. The hotel is very isolated. This is great in terms of relaxing, however, not so great when you want to buy some bottled water or eat. There is MAJOR construction being done at the resort. It is difficult relaxing on the beach while listening to drills and nail guns at the same time. The food was just 'OK' and the ambience in the restaurant was quite poor. The staff at the restaurant were very nice and helpful and personable, though. There is better food at the hotel next door (but is more expensive). Ironically, we saw the other hotel occupants there nightly. We signed up for one of the full day kayak tours through the hotel. The tour ended up being only 3 hours long because of a low tide and "lunch" consisted of pineapple and watermelon. We were still charged a full day excursion by the hotel even though it was a half day. The kayaking was unbelievable but we still felt like we were price gauged. That was the overall feeling of Tup Kaek Sunset beach resort - we felt like we were being taken advantage of (there are more examples, just not enough time/room to describe). The room was relatively clean except for the musty bathroom smell and continuous ant trail on the wall in the vanity area. We had been looking very forward to our stay. We were quite disappointed... Definitely would not stay there again.

"Tup Kaek Sunset Beach Resort" is located in the most paradisiac beach I have ever been before. Being there feels like having a dream, it's not real... And what is just great in this hotel is that the wood bungalows are perfectly integrated in the green landscape. It has a very nice spa, but not the cheaper one. It's clean, the swimming pool is ok. The staff is nice, but has a bit of difficulty in communicating in english. The breakfast is weak. Overall, I absolutelly recommend it!!
